Product summary
BrushForge brings paint conversion and painting organization into one native app. Its app catalogue covers 4,300+ paints. The core product connects catalogue-based CIEDE2000 matching with owned-paint inventory, repeatable recipes, and project planning. It is free to start and available on Android and iOS.
The public website provides an account-free converter, 2,941 generated paint pages, and brand-to-brand conversion charts from the current 10 July 2026 web snapshot. Public matches are catalogue-based and are not presented as physical brushout measurements.

Known limitations
- Colour matching compares stored catalogue values; it is not a database of controlled physical brushouts.
- ΔE2000 describes recorded colour distance, not coverage, opacity, flow, finish, or metallic reflectance.
- Screen swatches vary with calibration, display technology, colour-shifting settings, and lighting.
- The public website catalogue and native app catalogue are separate surfaces and can update on different schedules.
- Cross-platform sync between Android and iOS is not available.
- Some optional features and import paths can differ by platform and version.

Founder bio
Bas Mahieu is a UX/UI designer with a programming background and a miniature painter. BrushForge began as a personal tool after he returned to miniature painting following a long break. It remains an independently developed side project, shaped by painter feedback and the slow work of collecting, cleaning, and maintaining paint data.

Review access and disclosure
BrushForge welcomes independent testing and factual corrections. Review access never requires positive coverage or editorial approval. If complimentary premium access, travel, a device, or another material benefit is provided, reviewers should disclose it in accordance with their platform and local rules. BrushForge will disclose the nature and duration of any review access when it is offered.
Please report factual errors or reproduction issues before publication when practical; criticism and final editorial judgment remain the reviewer’s own.
