Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This policy covers the BrushForge website and the BrushForge apps for Android and iOS. The data involved depends on your platform and the features you choose to use.
Data BrushForge may handle
- Account data: email address, display name, authentication identifiers, and account status when you create or use an account. Authentication is provided through Firebase.
- Your app content: owned and wishlisted paints, custom paints, recipes, palettes, projects, notes, import files, backups, and feature preferences.
- Photos and other user content: images you deliberately add to projects, community posts, photo-import, lighting, or optional AI-assisted tools.
- Community data: profile and post content you choose to publish where community features are available. Published content is visible to other users.
- Purchase data: product and entitlement status supplied by Google Play or Apple. BrushForge does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Diagnostics and usage: app version, device and operating-system information, feature interactions, crash logs, and performance diagnostics through configured Firebase services.
How the data is used
BrushForge uses this information to provide the features you request, save or restore app content, operate platform-specific sync where available, verify purchases, prevent abuse, diagnose crashes, answer support requests, and improve reliability.
Core app tools are offline-friendly. Features such as purchases, account services, community functions, optional AI processing, and some imports require a connection. Data syncs automatically between devices on the same platform, and manual backup and restore are available. Android and iOS do not have complete cross-platform sync, and a manual transfer between them may be incomplete.
Website analytics
BrushForge uses optional Google Analytics 4 website analytics. Google Analytics does not load and no analytics request is made until you select Allow analytics.
If allowed, the website may send a limited page category, browser and device information, campaign information, and controlled events such as a converter result view or store-link click. Google receives the IP address as part of the network request and may use it to derive approximate geography. BrushForge does not request precise location. It will not send paint names, search text, photos, account identifiers, collection data, recipes, or project content. Google Signals, advertising storage, and advertising personalization remain disabled.
Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party identifiers in cookies beginning with _ga. You can change your choice through Analytics settings in the footer. Choosing no, revoking permission, enabling Global Privacy Control, or enabling Do Not Track prevents future website analytics. Revoking permission also removes BrushForge analytics cookies that are available to this site.
When allowed, Google processes the limited analytics data as a service provider under its own business data privacy terms.
Storage and service providers
Some app content is stored locally on your device. Depending on the feature and platform, BrushForge also relies on Firebase and Google Cloud services, Apple and Google billing services, analytics and crash-reporting services, advertising services, and processing services used by an optional photo or AI tool. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Backups, imports, and platform sync are not the same as Android-to-iOS sync. Review a file before importing it, and keep your own backup of important recipes and project notes.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Data is kept only as long as needed to operate the relevant feature, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Local data remains on your device until you remove it or uninstall the app, subject to device backups. Published community content may remain visible until it is deleted or moderated.
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete account data by emailing brushforgeapp@gmail.com. Include the email used for your account, but never send a password or purchase-card details. Requests are handled within the time required by applicable law. You may also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children, security, and changes
BrushForge is a general-audience hobby tool and is not directed to children who cannot consent under local law. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a revised date. Store privacy disclosures may be more platform-specific; if you see an inconsistency, please report it so the website and store listing can be corrected.
